Securitize, a popular tokenisation platform, has selected Wormhole as its interoperability provider. Wormhole will facilitate seamless cross-chain transfers and communication for all tokenized assets on the Securitize platform, serving an expansive range of clients and institutional funds.
The partnership represents a significant milestone for cross-chain interoperability within the RWA sector. Joining forces with Wormhole, Securitize anticipates the collaboration will accelerate the major institutional adoption and close the gap between traditional finance and onchain economies.
Leveraging Wormhole’s extensive cross-chain capabilities, Securitize’s asset issuers will be able to enjoy enhanced liquidity and accessibility for tokenized assets across a variety of blockchains. Investors will benefit from increased flexibility, while enjoying a wider range of fully compliant digital asset ecosystems.
Securitize CEO and co-founder Carlos Domingo heralds the collaboration as a key step towards unlocking new cases within the blockchain industry. Championing the importance of cross-chain infrastructure, Domingo asserted:
“Tokenized securities need to thrive on public, permissionless blockchains to unlock the potential of blockchain technology. This partnership with Wormhole will help enable sub-second, sub-penny transactions and move us into an increasingly cross-chain ecosystem, showcasing yet another example of how public blockchains enable new use cases that had previously been unavailable.” - Carlos Domingo, Securitize co-founder and CEO
Powered by Wormhole’s reputable infrastructure, Securtize claims its users will benefit from unparalleled flexibility, legitimacy and trust in all future cross-chain endeavors. This includes the integration of Wormhole’s unique messaging protocol, which will enable the platform to create customizable solutions specified tailored to the needs of individual asset managers.
“Securitize has solidified itself as a leader in the tokenized asset ecosystem and we’re thrilled to bring the Wormhole platform to their customers to enable a more complete asset management experience. This advancement has set the stage for increased institutional adoption of tokenized assets – a significant moment for the industry in an effort to bridge the massive traditional finance market to decentralized finance.” - Robinson Burkey, Wormhole co-founder.
The BlackRock Connection
Securtize’s biggest claim to fame came in March 2024, when BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, announced a strategic relationship with Securitize. According to the press release, Blackrock selected Securitze as its “transfer agent, tokenization platform and placement agent of choice”.
Since its launch in March 2024, the BUIDL fund has paid out over $9.3M in dividends to investors.
Currently, Securitize boasts over $950M in onchain funds, serving over 500k accounts. Beyond BlackRock, Securitize also provides tokenisation services for other institutional funds, including Hamilton Lane and KKR.
