Tensor S4 Airdrop Met With Mixed Reactions

With almost 50,000 eligible wallets, Tensor’s Season 4 rewards campaign comes to a polarizing end.

Tensor, Solana’s favorite NFT marketplace, has released its Season 4 airdrop allocation checker as a surprise holiday gift.

Distributing 4% of $TNSR’s total supply among loyal users, Tensor’s latest airdrop has drawn both gracious and frustrated reactions from the network’s NFT community.

Why did so many recipients receive 1 $TNSR after 8 months of trading and can we expect a fifth season of Tensor rewards?

Tensor Foundation Announces Allocations

On December 23, the Tensor Foundation released the coveted allocation checker for its S4 rewards campaign. According to the Tensor Foundation, Season 4 will distribute 4% of $TNSR total supply, currently valued at ~$20M, among just under 50,000 eligible wallets.

Tensorian NFT stakers were rewarded with linear points multipliers based on the number of staked Tensorians. However, the Tensor Foundation confirmed that only active users of Tensor protocols were eligible for rewards, meaning that stakers who weren’t actively trading on Tensor didn’t receive an allocation.

Arguably, Tensor S4 was more generous than the previous season based on token rewards per volume. The Tensor Foundation claims that S4 allocated 1.25% of $TNSR supply for every $100M traded on the marketplace, up 25% from S3’s 1% per $100M.

Allocation Checker Bug Divides Solana NFT Community

As is now tradition in Solana ecosystem airdrops, network participants had mixed reactions toward their rewards.

Hundreds of Tensor traders expressed frustration and disappointment with their allocations. Many users reported that their wallets were only eligible to receive 1 $TNSR token, despite being active users of the platform all year.

In the face of angry users, Tensor co-founder Richard Wu stepped up to extinguish the flames. Wu clarified that any 1 $TNSR allocations were due to a bug in the website, assuring traders that their allocations should be updated.

Meanwhile, Tensor power users were outwardly thrilled with their rewards. Many traders reported that the size of their allocations exceeded their expectations.

Claim Bonus for Vector Users

In a bid to onboard more users to Vector, its new socialFi memecoin trading platform, Tensor gave all eligible wallets an optional bonus allocation. By claiming through the Vector app, users will earn an additional 25% on their $TNSR airdrop allocations.

At this stage, no details have been given surrounding a potential 5th season of incentivized rewards campaigns. However, users have speculated that any future seasons will heavily encourage activity on Vector, as the Tensor ecosystem attempts to accelerate and expand adoption of its wider product suite.
