After releasing the app as an Android APK via its official GitHub in December 2024, GenesysGo’s flagship product, shdwDrive mobile, has made its way to the Solana dApp Store.

The timely listing makes it far easier to install and operate  shdwDrive mobile on Solana devices, turning mobile handsets into nodes that enable users to repurpose unused storage in exchange for crypto rewards.

shdwDrive mobile’s dApp store listing represents a key milestone for the decentralized storage provider. Securing the listing ahead of Solana Seeker distribution means that shdwDrive mobile will be readily available for over 150,000 Seeker recipients, who are expected to eagerly support Solana-native projects. 

While the Android APK is available via GenesysGo’s official Github for over 860M active devices worldwide, the simplified  shdwDrive mobile dApp is exclusively available in the Solana dApp Store.

Node Deployment Steadily Increases

Since launch, shdwDrive mobile has witnessed consistent node operator growth. According to Dune Analytics data, 384 nodes now contribute to shdwDrive mobile’s decentralized data solution, with over 1.9M $SHDW tokens staked to the network.

Just over 50 TBs of storage has now been shared via  shdwDrive mobile contributors, with new nodes being deployed every day. This figure is expected to increase dramatically as GenesysGo sets its sights on the Google Play store.

$SHDW Up 12% Despite Market Crash

Despite the sector’s sustainable business models and tangible rewards, Solana DePIN tokens weren’t spared in the market-wide crash caused by growing uncertainty in the tech industry. 

Traditional tech stocks like $NVDA suffered heavy losses this week following the launch DeepSeek, an open-source AI platform. Fear has permeated into crypto markets, with multiple Solana DePIN assets across the board enduring double-digit losses on a weekly timeframe.

Perhaps buoyed by shdwDrive mobile’s listing in the Solana dApp Store, GenesysGo’s native token, $SDHW, is showing considerable strength. Against ailing markets, $SHDW is up 12.17% in the last 24 hours to currently exchange hands at $0.31 based on Step Finance data.
